The first publicly accessible county park in the nation, Branch Brook Park runs through the city for close to four miles, featuring open space and trails winding through the region's native woodlands. Every April, the park's 2,000 cherry trees burst into bloom, drawing visitors from all around the area to walk through the blossoming trees. Other attractions at the park include a lake, a historical bridge and exercise paths. The park is located just northwest of downtown Newark, with its southern end starting not far from the Newark Museum.
Open daily dawn - dusk.
